Barda is Cecilia Gebhard, producer, DJ, music teacher and songwriter.
She graduate as music teacher specialized in spanish guitar from the Esnaola Music Institute, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, teaching music at public primary school since then. She has obtained a diploma as part as the Electroacoustic Media Composition career from Quilmes National University, where she studied harmony, counterpoint, orchestration, music analysis, music oriented computation, among other subjects.
Barda produces organic electronic music which fuses with elements from songs, folcloric melodies, ambient and electroacoustic music. This resulting in a mix of deep grooves that brings stories and landscapes to the dancefloor.
She has curated and produced a compilation called “Sílice”, with music produced and interpreted by *cis, trans woman and non binary artists, published by Fértil Discos in 2020.
Barda has played at venues like Bahidorá 2020 (MX), Fusion Festival and Zugvögel Festival (DE), MUTEK AR, WOMEX 17 (PL), Katerblau and Kantine Am Berghain (DE), Musicbox (PT), Crobar and Lollapalooza (Buenos Aires), adapting her sets to different formats.
She has produced remixes for labels such as Selvamonos (Peru), Wayu (USA), Wonderwheel (USA), ShikaShika, and more.
Her more recent EPs are “Canto Rodado”, published by Talpa Records (DE) and “Paseo Telúrico” published by her own label Basalto Records. Her newest release is the album titled “El Sueño Sobre El Sueño” published by Fértil Discos, which contains 10 songs filled with great folcloric inspiration..
Barda also hosts a radioshow at REA (Argentinean Electronic Radio) called “Vermouth alongside alebrijes” inviting different musicians from the world to play music alongside from the station studios in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
